CITY CYCLING - Cycling for a Good Climate

Whether you're out and about privately or cycling to university, going on a bike tour at the weekend or doing your weekly shopping by bike - every kilometer counts!

What is it about?

The aim of the competition is to cycle as many everyday journeys as possible in a climate-friendly way for 21 days. All employees and students of Ruhr University Bochum are cordially invited to take part.

When does it start?

The campaign phase runs every year from 01.05. to 30.09. Each municipality determines the three-week campaign period itself. When the campaign starts in 2025 will be announced both here and via Ruhr University Bochum News.

How can I take part?

Ruhr University Bochum sends its own team into the race every year under the name "Ruhr University Bochum". Registration is via the CITY CYCLING homepage and is possible at any time. Anyone who has already taken part in the campaign in previous years can simply reactivate their account there. Join in and let's collect kilometers together:

Where can I find more information?

All information about the CITY CYCLING campaign can be found on the following pages:

Everything at a Glance: Cycle Meter & CITY CYCLING App

The kilometers cycled during the campaign period can be recorded in the follow-up period. The cycle meter provides a quick overview of the current results.

Note: The cycle meter will be activated during the campaign period. You will then find the Radelmeter link here.

With the CITY CYCLING app, you can cycle even faster. Here you can easily track your routes via GPS and the kilometers cycled are automatically credited. In the results overview, you can see at a glance where your team and your municipality stand.
