Parking Garages and other Parking Options

Parking Spaces for Cars on Campus

The parking lots and parking garages of Ruhr University Bochum can be used free of charge and are open around the clock. However, parking keys are required for some parking spaces.

Freely Accessible Parking Spaces

Central Parking Garage

The central underground parking garage is located below the campus, can be reached via the "Uni Mitte" exit and offers parking spaces on several levels (P4 to P8).

Parking Garage East P20

The East Parking Garage is located in the east of the campus, adjacent to the streets Am Hochschulcampus and Oststraße, and can be reached via the "Uni Mitte" exit (and then continue via I-Südstraße) or "Hustadt", following Schattbachstraße to Am Hochschulcampus.

Parking Garage West P12/13

The P12 and P13 parking garages are located to the west of the campus on Max-Imdahl-Straße and can be reached via the "Uni West" or "Uni Mitte" exits (and then continue via M-Nordstraße).

  • Mon-Fri: 6-22 hrs
  • Closed all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays
  • Exit is always possible through automatic barriers.

Personal Parking Spaces

Under certain conditions, employees and students with an employment contract (WHK, SHK, student employees according to TV-L) are entitled to a fixed personal disabled parking space, which is located near the workplace or a frequently visited building and is marked with a sign (wheelchair symbol and personal vehicle license plate).

How Do I Obtain a Permanent Personal Parking Space?

  • I-Nordstraße (ID, ICFO, IC, IB, IA)
  • SSC women's parking lot
  • M-Nordstraße (ZKF)
